Glossary Item Box

Overview

Custom terminology allows you to define the retail terminology used within your business. Once defined, terminology automatically appears on criteria forms and reports. For more information on defining custom terminology refer to the article Custom Terminology.

Criteria Form

Refer to the article Report Criteria Form Standard Field Operation for help with the standard criteria form fields.

The following table describes the operation of non-standard fields where appropriate.

Field Description
Week Ending This date field indicates the week ending date for which the report will be generated.
Include Concession Stores This check box will determine if concession stores will be included in the report.
Hide Days With No Sales This check box will determine if days with no sales will be shown in the report.

Reports

Refer to the section Understanding the Intelligence Store Data for help with the standard values included in Retail Arena reporting.

The following table describes non-standard columns where appropriate.

Column Description
Target  This column will show the totals of individual branch targets and displays them as a state, country or type total.  This is also known as weekly budget.  The weekly budget is maintained in the ‘Maintain Sales Targets’ application.
Mon to Sun Sales  These columns show the daily total of sales.
WTD Sales This column shows the to the week to date total sales.
Parity Share Of the Style Count, this column shows the number of styles whose current retail is less than its original retail.
Sales $ LW This column shows the total $sale of last week.
$ Sales % Total LWTD This column shows the percentage variance of sales $ over Last Week compares the current week’s figures with the previous week’s figures.
LY Sale Value Var This column shows the sales $ value variance over Last Week, it compares the current week’s figures with the previous week’s figures.
LY Sale Value Var % TD This column shows the sales $ value percentage variance over Last Week, it compares the current week’s figures with the previous week’s figures.
Parity Points The Parity Points column looks at the overall stores results but on a parity point basis. This is the actual parity percentage minus the expected parity percentage.

Remarks

This report adjusts sales values for like-for-like comparisions using the Specified Date Method (see Like for Like Comparision Concepts.)

The columns sale_value_ly_var, sale_value_ly_var_TD, sale_value_ex_like_for_like, sale_value_ly_var_percent are adjusted. Hover over the column headers in the report to identify the underlying column names and the specific columns that are adjusted.
